The village of Obrochishte is situated in North-East Bulgaria (Balchik Municipality, Dobrich District), 15km southwest of Balchik, 6-7km to the west of the Albena seaside resort and only 32km away from Varna. A large part of the Baltata nature reserve (else called Batova Gora) is included within the boundaries of the village’s adjacent lands. The reserve hosts the most northern and best preserved longose (i.e. tropical-type) forest in Bulgaria.

Obrochishte is a significant part of the holiday property area Balchik-Albena-Obrochishte-Rogachevo-Kranevo. Situated on the main road Varna-Albena at the skirts of 2 high hills east of Batova river. Available here is a daily bus line (5 times a day) from Dobrich to Varna, with a bus stop at the center of Obrochishte. Also available are private shuttle buses every half hour.

Many local amenities are available here, lots of small restaurants and cafes, food and general shops (working 7 days a week).
Recently the "Beautiful Bulgaria" project invested funds in the restoration of the local Christian Orthodox Church and the Monastery.
