It lies just 6 km from the sea resort town of Balchik, 50 km from the city of Varna(55 km from its international airport), 19 km from the town of Kavarna, 10 km from the world famous beach resort of Albena and 5 km from the golf courses. The village is the oldest, but also the most developed one in the district of Dobrich. It has a kindergarten, a school, a cultural center, a pharmacy, a chapel, a guest house, couple of shops and a cafe-restaurant. In Sokolovo cable TV and internet access are available. There is a project for building a wind park for producing electric power. Rural tourism, agriculture and building construction are very well developed in the village.
