Kiten is a picturesque resort town situated on a small sunny peninsula on the Black Sea. Kiten is only 5 km south of Primorsko, 5 km from Lozenets' clean beaches and about 55 km from Burgas.

The population is about 1,000 people, but during the summer season the city becomes lively because of many tourists.

There are wide beaches of the gulfs Atliman and Urdoviza in Kiten. Atliman is the northern beach with beautiful sand dunes. The South bay Urdoviza is divided into two beaches - "Kiten-south" and "Kiten camping".

Near Kiten are located large beaches of Primorsko and extremely clean and beautiful beaches of Lozenets.

Kiten is sunny and warm city with mild and humid transitional Mediterranean climate. The average annual temperature is +12°C, the average January temperature is about +2°C and in July is +23-24°C. Summer is with around 1,700 hours of sunshine from May to October.

The area around Kiten is relatively clean. Near the resort there are not enterprises of heavy industry nor big ports. There is just a small port.

The town was founded on the ruins of the ancient city of Urdoviza. Today next to the city can be seen the ruins of Medieval fortress. Urdoviza was an ancient Thracian settlement, as evidenced by numerous archaeological finds - ancient stone anchors and pottery from the late Bronze Age.

Nowadays Kiten is a nice resort town with numerous hotels, guest houses, holiday homes and campsites. Dining and entertainment options are numerous and diverse - restaurants, pizzerias, bars and clubs.

Interesting sights around Kiten are Strandja Natural Park, Ropotamo Reserve with the eponymous river, where boat trips are offered, the ancient city Urdoviza, Beglik Tash site, Sozopol town.

Near Kiten is located Primorsko and its beaches, which provide additional opportunities for water sports - surfing, jet rental, diving, beach volleyball, and also fishing in the river Karaagach, which is rich in fish.
