Wizz Air Offers New Summer Route from Sofia to Zakynthos

Wizz Air, the fastest growing airline in Europe and the leading airline in Bulgaria, today announced that it is adding a new summer destination to its Sofia network. Sofia – Zakynthos is another exciting route that the company will launch from Bulgaria on June 13, 2021. Tickets are already on sale.

Zakynthos Island, also called Zante, is the third largest of the Ionian Islands and one of the most interesting places in Greece. Its divinely beautiful beaches and abundance of natural wonders do not leave anyone indifferent. There are countless reasons to visit Zakynthos. Blue caves located in the north of the island are one of the mandatory reasons to stop over!

Called so because of the stunning turquoise color of the water inside them, which is reflected on the rocks, the caves were discovered in 1897 and today are a hugely popular landmark.

Beautiful local beaches, of course, are another magnet – with their fine, white volcanic sand, turquoise blue water, bright sun, white rocks and water entertainment, they will meet not just your expectations, but your dreams. For example, The Beach of Navagio, or shipwreck beach, is a truly amazing place.

Located near the picturesque mountain village of Volimes, this is one of the most beautiful (and photographed) beaches in entire Greece, where you can see the remains of a real shipwrecked ship. It is also worth visiting Marathonisi Island, which is located in the middle of Laganas Bay. Not only does its shape resemble a turtle, but it is also one of the places where the famous large sea turtles nest, which today are an endangered species.
